Crawford Allen House, Providence

Crawford Allen House, Providence

This historical building located in Providence, Rhode Island is home to 16 residential units. Its restoration committee has won awards from the city commending them for their attention to detail in bringing this residence back to its former glory. Replacing the siding and repainting this 120,000-sq.ft. building proved to be no simple task for the homeowners association. Preservation requirements from the local municipality were exacting. United Home Experts was chosen as the contractor for the job because “We realized the association board needed to be absolutely sure we understood the challenges and requirements of the job. We sat in at historical commission meetings, showed everyone involved the materials selections we thought made sense, and talked through all the issues, sometimes late into the evening.” (David Lamoureux, Partner, United Home Experts)

United Home Experts proved once again its versatility and ability to adapt to the uniqueness of each client in its work on the new construction of Station Place, a condominium community in Gloucester, Massachusetts. This 7 unit mixed-use development is one of over 100 residences built by Jay McNiff. The right contractor was needed in this situation to handle the multiple needs of the developer spanning from James Hardie siding to roofing and painting. United Home Experts executed the completion of this project beautifully, on time, and within the set budget. Something most developers sadly see too little of. Jay McNiff was so impressed with United Home Experts he contracted us to do the HardiBoard on his own home. Back to top

Working closely with The 45 Construction Company, United completed this large scale renovation project in the spring of 2005. This dormitory for a college in Boston posed difficult challenges unique to working in the city. Staging and access to the building proved complicated. Timing was crucial in navigating the narrow busy city streets and hallways bustling with college students. Due to experience and ingenuity, the United Painting Company team was able to coordinate schedules that worked for all parties involved, and the painted the exterior woodwork, accent masonry and fire escapes achieving beautiful results. Quite a bit of carpentry repairs and replacement work were necessary to bring back the original façade. United was happy to install historically accurate and finely crafted replacements to missing trim, decorative molding and fascia. Back to top

Lake Street, Warwick

This apartment building was home to over fifty people…and millions of spores of mold and algae. United Painting Company was called in to evict the microscopic residents on the shingles, and to beautify the exterior to make this residence a more attractive home for tenants. United’s specialized training in exterior paint problems and solutions made them the perfect choice for this project. Before painting began, the existing algae and mold were removed, and the moisture problem causing the growth was taken care of. After all this proper preparation and full priming, a soft grey top-quality paint was applied to the shingles, protecting them from future damage. Residents of the building were amazed to see the transformation. Back to top
